Craft a Stunning Fall Candle Decor Piece
As the crisp fall air sets in, it's the perfect time to bring some cozy autumn vibes into your home with a stunning fall-inspired candle decor piece.
In this tutorial, Amy from A Makers' Studio walks you through a fun and easy DIY project that you can make from scratch.
This is not just a candle-making workshop—it's about creating your own beautiful container, pouring black wax, and decorating the candle with autumn accents like pinecones and dried fruits. Perfect for a holiday centerpiece or a thoughtful gift for a loved one!
Materials You’ll Need:
- Eco Powder
- Small Tray Mold
- Beeswax
- Essential Oils (Cinnamon, Ginger, Lemon)
- Nor Pigment (Black)
- Wick Holders & Wicks
- Black One Step Paint
- Dried Fruits & Pinecones
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Create Your Candle Container
Using Eco Powder and a Small Tray Mold, mix your eco powder with warm water until it reaches a smooth, pourable consistency. Pour the mixture into your mold and let it set for about 45 minutes to an hour. Tap the mold lightly to remove air bubbles and let it harden completely.
Step 2: Demolding the Container
Once your mold has set, carefully remove your newly formed container by peeling back the sides of the mold. The result is a beautiful and durable container, perfect for holding your candle.
Step 3: Paint Your Container
To give your candle an elegant, matte black finish, use Black One Step Paint from A Makers' Studio. Apply two coats of paint, letting it dry between layers. Be sure to paint both the inside and outside of the container for a complete, polished look.
Step 4: Prepare Your Black Wax
For this project, we’re creating a black wax to match the matte black container. Melt natural beeswax and mix it with a teaspoon of Nor Pigment to achieve a rich, black color. Add a few drops of essential oils like cinnamon, ginger, and lemon for a warm, fall-inspired fragrance.
Step 5: Add the Wicks
Place two wicks in the center of the container. Secure them in place using wick holders to ensure they stay upright when you pour the wax.
Step 6: Pour the Wax
Carefully pour the black wax into your container, taking care to leave some room at the top for decorative elements. Let the wax cool and harden, making sure the wicks stay centered.
Step 7: Decorate Your Candle
Now comes the fun part—decorating! Once your wax has cooled slightly, gently press pinecones, dried fruits, and other fall accents like mini apples or anise into the top of the candle. You can reheat the wax slightly with a hair dryer to help the decorations adhere better.
Step 8: Finishing Touches
After your candle has fully hardened, trim the wicks and place the candle on a decorative tray or stack it on top of books for a stylish, seasonal touch.
Enjoy Your Fall Decor Candle
This beautiful candle will not only add a warm autumn glow to your home but also make a lovely hostess gift for fall gatherings. You can get creative with different colors and fragrances for a custom candle experience. Don’t forget—you can reuse your handmade container and refill it with new wax whenever needed!
