Materials You'll Need:
- Peony Silicone Mold
- Organic Beeswax
- Taper Candle
- Essential Oil Roller Ball (or an alternative to create the hole for the taper candle)
- Candle Wick
- Hot Glue Gun
- Double Boiler (for melting the wax)
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Melt the Beeswax
Using a double boiler, melt your Organic Beeswax until it’s completely liquefied. This step is crucial to ensure smooth pouring into your mold. Beeswax is not only natural and eco-friendly, but it also has a high melting point, which makes your candles burn longer!
Step 2: Prepare the Mold
Grab your Peony Silicone Mold and ensure it's clean and dry. For this project, you’ll be creating two halves of the peony to form a full flower. To ensure the taper candle can fit through the middle, use an essential oil roller ball or any round object that’s the right size to create a hole in the center of each mold half.
Step 3: Pour the Wax
Once your wax is melted, carefully pour it into the mold, filling it to the top. Make sure the roller ball (or alternative) is in place to form the hole. Let the wax sit for about an hour to an hour and a half so it can set properly.
Step 4: Remove from the Mold
Once the wax has hardened, gently peel back the Peony Silicone Mold to reveal your beautiful peony wax creation. If the wax is still soft, you may want to let it sit a little longer to fully set.
Step 5: Assemble the Candle
After you have two wax peony halves, use a hot glue gun to attach them together around the taper candle, forming a full flower. If needed, you can add some melted wax to the connection point to ensure a snug fit. You can also add extra wax to adjust the height of the peony on the taper candle, depending on the look you're going for.
Step 6: Customize Your Candle
Feel free to get creative with your candles! You can add a ribbon for extra decoration or even mix in essential oils to give your candles a natural fragrance.
Why Use Beeswax?
We love using beeswax because it’s a natural, sustainable material with no added chemicals or toxins. Beeswax also has a lovely natural scent and burns cleanly, making it the perfect choice for candles you'll want to use in your home.
