A FUN & EASY VINTAGE HIGH CHAIR MAKEOVER
There’s something so nostalgic about old high chairs. They make a great addition to an antique collection and are so adorable in baby photo shoots. If you’ve found an antique high chair during your recent shopping trip, this project is for you.
MATERIALS YOU’LL NEED

- Biscuits And Gravy Rescue Restore Paint
- Furniture & Cabinetry Cleaner
- Clear Wax
- Wedge brush
- Optional: A Makers’ Studio Stencils
BRING NEW LIFE TO AN OLD HIGH CHAIR WITH 4 EASY STEPS
- Clean the high chair with A Makers’ Studio Furniture Cleaner. Using a lint-free rag, make sure to clean it from top to bottom, as most antiques are quite dirty when we first acquire them. Furniture Cleaner also removes any past polish, oils, or finishes that were used on the piece.

- Mix your Rescue Restore paint thoroughly before painting. Then use your wedge brush to apply thick, even coats across the high chair’s surface. You may need to use a smaller brush to get paint onto rails and decorative accents on the chair.
- Wait 45 minutes to an hour to let the first coat dry, then apply a second coat. Let both coats dry fully for another 45 minutes to an hour.
- Once the paint is fully dry, apply Clear Wax to your palette. Offload excess before applying it to the high chair with a cross-hatch motion. Lightly cover the high chair with wax to seal the paint and make it easy to clean up whatever messes come its way!
Optional: Use A Makers’ Studio Stencils to create a monogram, an adorable design, or to create the perfect “Happy Birthday” backdrop for some adorable photos.
